Summer road work in Vernon's Harwood area will continue, and motorists travelling along 25th Street in the area should expect temporary traffic delays next week.
Crews will start Monday, July 14, at 7 p.m. to upgrade utility infrastructure on a section of 25th Street between 39th and 43rd avenues. That section will be closed to through traffic (see map).
Local access will be maintained for businesses and residents living within the construction zone. However, residents on 42nd Avenue will need to access their properties via 20th Street or 27th Street.
"Work is scheduled to be completed by 5 p.m. on July 18," said the city. "Though timelines are subject to change due to weather and other factors."
While some disruptions are anticipated, the city said every effort will be made to minimize traffic impacts.
"For everyone’s safety, please obey all traffic control signage and reduce speeds in the construction area."
The city apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation during this important infrastructure upgrade.
