For pretty much the entire B.C. 18U AAA baseball season, visiting Edith Gay Park has been an exercise in futility for opposing teams.

The Âé¶čAV Sun Devils, who are 16-1 at Edith Gay in 2017, closed out their regular season home schedule Wednesday with a 14-0 drubbing of the Vernon Canadians.

Gavin Barrett was masterful on the mound for Âé¶čAV, tossing a two-hitter and striking out six to push his record to 7-0.

Jackson Sowerby led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Noah Ringness-Law belted a three-run home run

Defensively, the Sun Devils were solid committing just one error.

“They played amazing, solid from top to bottom,” coach Rob Law said of his team. “With provincials only 21 days away, it is time to elevate our game to the next level.”

The first-place Sun Devils (24-6) have this weekend off as they prepare for four-game series against the North Shore Padres July 15 and 16, before heading to Victoria to take on the Eagles July 22 and 23 to close out the regular season.

The Sun Devils will host the B.C. midget AAA provincials beginning July 27.
