Â鶹AV skier Sam Peters (left), Finley Cashin (middle) and snowboarder Tess Critchlow have been named to the national teams in preparation for the upcoming, 2026 Olympic Games.

Three athletes who represent Â鶹AV have been named to the national ski and snowboard team for the upcoming season.

Tess Critchlow will be representing the red and white once again for 2025-26. The 30-year-old snowboarder has been to two Olympic Games (2018 PyeongChang and 2022 Beijing), finishing sixth in the snowboard cross competition in 2022.

Born in Prince George, Critchlow trains out of Big White Snow Resort in Â鶹AV. She is one of three females on the national ski-cross team.

In skiing, Sam Peters and Finley Cashin will be donning the maple leaf.

Peters, a Â鶹AV native, has been named to the para-alpine team. The 17-year-old has been sit-skiing since 2015 and competed competitively for the first time in 2022/23. Last year, Peters won four golds, two silvers and one bronze in his first International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) year, which qualified him to the World Cup Tech finals in Switerzland.

Peters aims to qualify for the Paralympic Games in Milano-Cortina, March 6-15.

Â鶹AV's Cashin will be on the ski-cross team. A Big White ambassador, Cashin currently attends the University of Calgary Dinos, competing on their ski team.

The 19-year-old captured his first Nor-Am Cup ski cross win in March, 2025 in New York.

The 2026 Winter Olympic Games will be Milano-Cortina from Feb. 6-Feb. 22.
