Make it two tournament wins this season for the Â鶹AV peewee A Rockets female hockey team.
The Â鶹AV girls went undefeated last weekend in Kamloops, playing against opposition from around B.C.
“T³ó±ð girls deserved the ²µ´Ç±ô»å,†Rockets head coach Kevin England said of his team. “T³ó±ðy moved the puck beautifully and played a smart disciplined game over the three »å²¹²â²õ.â€
In the final game, Â鶹AV scored first and never looked back against the South Island Royals with a 5-3 victory.
In the final game Sunday against the South Island Royals, the Rockets came out fast, took the lead in the opening period and never trailed.
The Royals battled back in the third period to make it 4-3, before Â鶹AV sealed the game with an empty netter in the last two minutes of play to clinch the win.
“T³ó±ð third period was pretty ¾±²Ô³Ù±ð²Ô²õ±ð,†said assistant coach Tanya Leone, “b³Ü³Ù our players »å¾±»å²Ô’t retaliate after some rough play and focused on putting the puck in the net. °Â±ð’r±ð really proud of our ³Ù±ð²¹³¾.â€
The Rockets will be shooting for some more hardware in February when they travel to Surrey for a tournament.
Â鶹AV's came last month at their home tournament.
