Twelve collector cars pulled into Princeton on June 24, to conclude the 1,500-mile drive of Brits ‘Round BC.
An initiative of the Old English Car Club of B.C. (OECC), Brits ‘Round BC started in 2005 and has continued every two years, except during the pandemic.
The idea is for club members to drive their English engines all over the province and visit the car club branches.
Starting in Abbotsford, then to Merritt, Kamloops, Vernon, Nakusp, Nelson, and Osoyoos, the club ended at Martin and Marie Buehler’s barbecue in Princeton.
Club member Mary Lou Miles said, “The trip for the most part ignores major highways and continues on roads less travelled.”
“In Kamloops, we were hosted by the OECC Thompson Valley Branch for two nights including a barbecue at a club member’s home at Paul Lake,” she said.
This year members from Port Alberni, Oliver, Nanaimo, Victoria, Vancouver, North Delta, Surrey, and Tsawwassen attended the ride.
“Princeton was our final stop since it provides an opportunity for everyone to drive home the next day. We are hoping to be back in Princeton in two years and hopefully, Martin and Marie will host us again,” said Miles.
