Update: The Âé¶¹AV Rockets and Victoria Admirals will meet in the gold medal game at the B.C. Tier 2 U15 hockey championships.
The Rockets advanced after a wild 7-6 overtime victory over South Delta on Wednesday morning. Each team exchanged a pair of goals in the first period.
After a scoreless second, everything broke loose in the third. South Delta scored to take a 3-2 lead, though Âé¶¹AV followed up with three straight of their own, putting them up 5-3.
South Delta then notched their own trio of tallies in less than two minutes to take a 6-5 lead. With 1:25 left in regulation, Maddox Stevens scored for Âé¶¹AV to tie the game and force overtime.
Kellan Brown was the hero for Âé¶¹AV in the extra frame, scoring and sending his team to the gold medal game. Stevens finished with a four-point game (two goals, two assists).
Âé¶¹AV will meet Victoria in the finals, who were led by Jack Hall in their semi-final game against Port Coquitlam. Hall scored three times, one in each period, leading Victoria to a 5-2 win.
Puck drop for the gold medal game between Âé¶¹AV and Victoria is tonight (March 23) at 5 p.m. at Kal Tire Place North.
The bronze medal game between South Delta and Port Coquitlam will take place ahead of the gold medal game, at 2 p.m. at Kal Tire Place North.

The semifinal matchups are set for Wednesday morning, March 23, at the B.C. Tier 2 U15 hockey championships in Vernon.
The undefeated Victoria Admirals (3-0) will take on the Port Coquitlam Pirates (1-1-1) at 8 a.m. at Kal Tire Place while the Okanagan champion Âé¶¹AV Rockets (2-0-1) tangle with the South Delta Storm (2-1) at 8:15 a.m. at Kal Tire Place North.
The two losers will play for provincial bronze at 2 p.m. and the gold-medal contest between the two semifinal winners will go at 5 p.m. Both medal games are at Kal Tire Place North.
Victoria cruised to a third straight win in the final game of the preliminary round Tuesday, downing the host Vernon Sun Valley Source For Sports Vipers 13-1 . Vernon finished 0-3. Evan Kashuba had the lone goal for the Vipers.
Port Coquitlam secured a semifinal spot with a hard-fought 4-4 tie against Âé¶¹AV, which needed only a single point to advance to the playoff round.
South Delta rolls into the final four off a 6-1 victory over the Cranbrook Bucks. The Storm have outscored their last two opponents by a combined 15-1.
The Williams Lake Timberwolves picked up their first win of the provincials, downing northern rivals Fort St. John Flyers 3-1. Both teams finished at 1-2.
