Woman shot in West Âé¶¹AV home

RCMP are currently securing a scene in West Âé¶¹AV following an overnight shooting inside a home.

The West Âé¶¹AV RCMP responded  July 4  at 11:16 p.m., to a report of a shot fired inside a home in the 700 block of Spland Road.

"Police attended the scene and discovered a woman, who was conscious at the time and appeared to be suffering from a single gunshot wound," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.

"The 31-year-old woman was rushed to hospital in serious condition suffering from potentially life threatening injuries."

A 28-year-old West Âé¶¹AV man had been taken into police custody at the scene. He remains in custody at this time.

The West Âé¶¹AV RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) has assumed control of the ongoing investigation. RCMP have secured the scene awaiting a warrant to search the property. RCMP can confirm that this was an isolated incident.
