New wildfire southwest of Penticton suspected to be human-caused

A wildfire southwest of Penticton has been discovered on Tuesday night, July 8.

A second wildfire of the day has been reported southwest of Penticton.

On Tuesday, July 8, the fire located at Upper Sheep Creek is currently 0.009 hectares in size and suspected to be human-caused, according to BC Wildfire Service. It is considered out of control.

This fire is located southwest of Penticton, and north of Yellow Lake. 

Earlier in the day, a fire 0.2 hectares in size eight kilometres northwest of the Apex Mountain Resort community sparked but has since deemed as .
