Eighteen groups in Âé¶čAV are getting a total of more than $411,000 fromthe province through its community gaming grant program.
The organizations include:
- Okanagan Symphony Society - $140,500
- Thompson-Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League - $35,000
- Âé¶čAV Visual & Performing Arts Centre Society - $34,500
- Rutland Youth Soccer Association - $33,900
- Ogopogo Summer Swim Club - $30,600
- Âé¶čAV Ski Club - $24,150
- Kiwanis Music Festival Society of Âé¶čAV - $22,000
- Âé¶čAV Liedertafel Society - $15,000
- Winfield Figure Skating Club - $14,325
- Âé¶čAV Minor Fastball Society - $12,000
- Âé¶čAV K.O.âs Wheelchair Rugby Association - $11,200
- Âé¶čAV Lawn Bowling Club - $9,000
- Chamber Music Âé¶čAV Society - $8,000
- White Sails A Capella Chapter â Sweet Adelines International - $5,000
- Dolyna Ukrainian Cultural Society - $5,000
- Âé¶čAV Okanagan Mission Lions Club - $5,000
- Âé¶čAV Pipe Band Society - $4,400
- Responsible Animal Care Society - $1,500
âThese grants cover a wide range of activities that keep people of all ages engaged in our community,â said Steve Thomson, MLA for Âé¶čAV-Mission.
The grants are awarded under the sport, arts and culture, environment, and human and social services categories of the Community Gaming Grant Program, which allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development.
âMany of these groups rely on these grants to assist with their day-to-day operations,â said Kelonwa-Lake Country MLA Norm Letnick. âThis boost of more than $411,000 will help them continue to offer the services and programs that local families rely on.â
