BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) crews are attacking a new fire in the Similkameen Valley, this time just outside Princeton.

The August Lake wildfire sparked Saturday afternoon, July 12, east of Princeton.

It is currently seven hectares in size. A live BCWS map shows the blaze burning near the Princeton Golf Club.

Social media posts from some Princeton residents also indicated the fire is located near the golf course.

The blaze is suspected to be human-caused, BCWS said.
