The West Âé¶čAV Warriors are back in action on Wednesday night as the holiday season begins at Royal LePage Place.

Wednesday night’s contest is Salvation Army Night at the rink as the Warriors welcome the Salmon Arm Silverbacks to town. The purpose of the night is to help kick off the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Kettle Campaign.

“We are always delighted to partner with the Westside Salvation Army,” said West Âé¶čAV Warriors president Chris Laurie. “The Westside Salvation Army does so much great work in our community at Christmas and all year long. I’m pleased we can play a role in raising awareness. Our players and staff will also join the mission of serving those in need by donating and filling a few kettle shifts. We thank our loyal and generous fans for coming out and supporting this great organization.”

As part of the night, there will be a ceremonial puck drop with Westbank First Nation Councillor Jordan Coble, West Âé¶čAV Mayor Gord Milsom, and Peachland Mayor Patrick Van Minsel as they make a donation to the Salvation Army. The game’s 50/50 also supports their Christmas Gifts of Hope program and the famous Christmas kettles will be placed throughout the arena for people to donate. The Salvation Army’s mascot ‘Sally’ will also be at the game interacting with fans.

“Our hope is, that with the help of our local dignitaries and the West Âé¶čAV Warriors, we can spread the message of the Westside Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign,” said Westside Salvation Army’s Jennifer Henson. “We are actively looking for volunteer bell ringers, we want our community to know that the need is greater than ever before, and we want to make sure that everyone knows that if they are in need, we are here to help.”

On the ice, the Warriors are looking to get back on track as they are 1-3-1 in the month of November. Despite the struggles, the Warriors remain fourth in the BCHL’s Interior Division with a 10-6-2-0 record (22 points). Salmon Arm comes into the game also with 22 points but is third in the conference as they have 11 wins and have played fewer games. November had gone the exact opposite for the Silverbacks as they are 4-1 in the month.

Wednesday’s puck drop is at 7 p.m.
