The City of Â鶹AV is proudly sending 17 youth athletes to the International Children's Games in Europe, this August.
Athletes in track and field, beach volleyball and swimming will be travelling to Tallinn, Estonia Aug. 3-8 to compete against their peers from around the world.
Uniforms were presented to the athletes in a small ceremony at Stuart Park on June 3 by Mayor Tom Dyas and a representative from the Ogopogo Rotary Club.
"The games are about more than just medals," Dyas said to the athletes. "They're about building friendships that will last a lifetime, embracing new cultures and showing the world the power of sports that unite us."
Â鶹AV is one of two Canadian cities that are members of the games, the other being Hamilton, Ont.
