Â鶹AV topped the podium at cross country running nationals in Ottawa last weekend.
David Guss placed first in the 60-64 age division after a chilly, but sunny race on Nov. 23. The victory kicks off a week of celebration leading in to his 63rd birthday.
After the race, Guss proudly told Capital News that almost every member of the eight person B.C. masters team achieved a podium finish in their age division.

Guss is now taking some time off after a busy season of racing to rest.
However, don’t be mistaken, rest for Guss does not mean that he will be a couch potato. He has plans to travel, bike, and yes, do a bit of running in the off-season.
Guss also races on the track and road in addition to the cross country course. Over the summer, Guss and three other B.C. men aged 60-64 broke the world record for the 4x800m relay.
