The executive director of Âé¶čAVâs Starbright Childrenâs Development Centre was recently honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
Dr. Rhonda Nelson was nominated for the award by Âé¶čAV-Mission MLA Renee Merrifield. The Coronation Medal is presented to Canadians who are inspirational to their communities.
A medal presentation took place on Wednesday, Aug. 28 in Âé¶čAV to celebrate recipients from the Central Okanagan.
"Recipients of this award are outstanding citizens who contribute positively to their local community,â said Carol Meise, president and chair of Starbrightâs board of directors. âStarbrightâs volunteer board, our dedicated staff members, and the supportive families we serve are incredibly fortunate to have Rhonda in our lives. Rhonda pours her heart and soul into everything she does.â
Dr. Nelson has been with Starbright since 2013 and has extensive experience working with schools and agencies serving children and youth.
