The Peachland Lions Club got a well-deserved thank-you and a $750 donation from Mayor Patrick Van Minsel and council at the June 24 council meeting.
Club members attended to accept a certificate of appreciation and a cheque recognizing their efforts at the Districtâs annual Peachland Open House & BBQ, held earlier this month.
The Lions Club served up free food at the June 11 event, volunteering their time and energy to help bring the community together â a gesture council said didnât go unnoticed.
âWe would like to express our sincere gratitude for your outstanding service and unwavering commitment to our community,â said Mayor Van Minsel, handing over the certificate and cheque.
âYour enthusiasm, teamwork and community spirit helped create a fun, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for both residents and visitors,â he added.
The mayor said the Peachland Lions Club âexemplifies the true meaning of service,â pointing to the groupâs ongoing efforts to support local events, lift up others, and âbuild a stronger Peachland for all.â
