The City of Âé¶čAV wants residents to review two important strategies to see if they reflect the communityâs needs.
Participation in the Climate Resilient Âé¶čAV Strategy (CRKS) and Sustainable Urban Forest Strategy (SUFS) can be done by survey or attending one of three open houses before June 9.
âBoth strategies are based on previous community engagement, research on best practices and approaches used by other jurisdictions, as well modelling and analysis,â said Chris Ray, climate action and environment manager.
The CRKS aims to guide the city in reducing community greenhouse gas emissions by 40 per cent below 2007 levels by 2030 and help the city become more resilient to climate change impacts.
The SUFS plans to manage the urban forest now and in the future.
âOur urban forest is an essential part of climate resilience, as well as the communityâs character, livability, and biodiversity,â Ray added.
Residents who complete the survey can be entered to win one of two hanging baskets or one of two promo codes for 240 free minutes to Âé¶čAVâs shared micromobility program (e-scooters and e-bikes).
