Mountain biker rescued by air in West Âé¶¹AV

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue transported an injured mountain biker out of the bush in West Âé¶¹AV by helicopter on May 10, 2025.

A mountain biker was saved by Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) after finding himself injured in West Âé¶¹AV's Smith Creek area on Saturday, May 10. 

The biker was initially reached by visiting volunteers from Golden Search and Rescue. COSAR's e-bike team was deployed to asses the man and prepare him for transport. 

With difficult terrain, the individual was taken by helicopter out of the area and to a waiting ambulance. 

B.C. has 78 volunteer search and rescue groups that provide free rescue services.
