A blitz conducted by the Âé¶čAV RCMP's Municipal Traffic Unit resulted in a variety of violations.
On June 4, the RCMP organized the traffic blitz that resulted in more than 70 tickets including:
- 21 for distracted driving using a cell phone;
- 22 for speeding;
- 11 for speeding in a school zone;
- A driver travelling 69 km/h in a 30 km/h school zone;
- A driver issued a 3-day roadside drivers licence suspension and vehicle impoundment due to alcohol consumption in a school zone (the same one as the driver going 69 km/h.
âWith the warmer weather now upon us, the Âé¶čAV Municipal Traffic Unit is continuing its efforts to target speeders, distracted drivers using cell phones, all with the goal of making our roads safer for everyone in the community.â said Sgt Kyle Ushock of the RCMP Municipal Traffic Unit.
