The revitalization is part of plans to develop a more aesthetically pleasing entry point to the city

A new public plaza will soon start to take shape at the corner of Ellis Street and Harvey Avenue.

“The location, known as Anchor Park, will be revitalized as part of plans to develop a more aesthetically pleasing entry point to the city,” according to a City of Âé¶čAV media release.

In preparation for construction in 2025, the plantings and hardscape at that location will be removed. New trees will be replanted in this plaza, replacing the existing trees that are in failing health.

The concrete anchor structure will also be demolished due to the cost and logistics of removing it to a different location. The anchor is an example of what was used to stabilize the old bridge.

“Businesses in the area have been notified of the work and are supportive of plans to rejuvenate that corner,” the city’s release states.
