Âé¶čAV Ribfest sizzles in success with over 20k attendees

The third annual edition saw five champion ribbers duke it out to be named the overall grand champion

Âé¶čAV Ribfest took over City Park on Saturday, July 5, with Boss Hog's BBQ winning the overall grand champion award.

The sweet aroma of fall-of-the-bone ribs was emanating in the air at Âé¶čAV's City Park for Ribfest.

The festival, now in its third year, saw 21,786 people come out to enjoy the food, live music and community celebration from July 4-6. 

Five champion ribbers dished out award-winning ribs, brisket and barbecue chicken. 

Winning the people's choice award, and claiming the overall grand champion belt was , who also finished second in the judge's choice category.

r took second in the people's choice while first place in judge's choice went to .

Along with the food, 12 local musicians serenaded attendees throughout the weekend.

“We’re blown away by the community support this year,” said Christina Ferreira, producer of Âé¶čAV Ribfest. “To see nearly 22,000 people come together to support not only this event, but the local performers and over 30 small Canadian-owned businesses who count on festivals like this — it’s truly inspiring.”
