Âé¶čAV RCMP are asking parents to have open discussions with their kids on the dangers of unsanctioned pre-grad parties.
In a release to media sent Sept. 23, police say these events happen randomly throughout the school year often in unsupervised locations like in the backcountry or a private home. Without supervision, the potential for underage drinking and use of illegal drugs increases.
âWe encourage parents to have a discussion with their kids about these unsanctioned events,â said Const. Fed Angulo, Community Youth Resource officer. âWe want the students to have a safe and enjoyable school year, and getting off on the right foot is essential. Talk to your kids about the risks associated with these types of events and always have a safe ride home.â
