Combined Âé¶čAV water polo team dominates at 17U National Tournament

Âé¶čAV Water Polo Club-Pacific Storm won all four of their games a the tournament held Feb. 16-18

The Âé¶čAV Water Polo Club was an unstoppable force at the recent 17U NCL National Tournament held in Edmonton.

They joined forces with the Pacific Storm to win all four of their games, beating Team Saskatchewan 15-7, the Calgary Torpedoes 13- 6, Vortex 14-8, and Surrey 14-9 during the tournament which took place from Feb. 16-18.

“The team played well, but we have a lot of room for improvement,” said Nikola Maric, head coach. “I am most happy with their effort and willingness to execute the plan we made before each game.”

Despite the players initially hailing from three different teams Maric highlighted their unity.

“It’s nice to see even though they came from three different clubs, finally they’re starting to play together as a team.”

Âé¶čAV boys, Mason Baughen, Clarke Schafer, and Octavio Macedo Vasconcelos GuimarĂŁes, played alongside Pacific Storm teammates.

The team currently sits in first place nationally in the 17U NCL competition and will compete in the national finals taking place in Montreal from May 23 to May 25.

Their next event is the Âé¶čAV Water Polo Club Winter Development Tournament at H2O in Âé¶čAV on March 2.
