Temperatures are dropping in Âé¶čAV and the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association is stepping up to help those living on the streets.

Environment Canada shows snow in the forecast this week for Âé¶čAV with daily highs zero or colder.

“We know how dangerous these cold snaps can be for people experiencing homelessness,” said CMHA Âé¶čAV CEO, Mike Gawliuk. “Our Community Roots team is committed to being out on the streets ensuring that folks who are unhoused are provided with warm clothing and have access to the supports they need to stay safe during these cold days and months.”

The team will distribute winter jackets, toques, gloves, socks, insulated blankets and sleeping bags.

CMHA Âé¶čAV is collecting financial and physical donations to assist more people. Donations can be made online at or by visiting their office at 504 Sutherland Ave.
