1,200 Lake Country BC Hydro customers without power

Power went off along Highway 97 just before 2:15 p.m.

1,218 BC Hydro customers, including many businesses in Lake Country are without power on Friday afternoon, July 18.

A tree that has fallen on power lines has caused central of Lake Country, including many businesses to lose power on Friday, July 18.

According to BC Hydro, 1,218 customers are without power since 2:13 p.m. The affected area ranges from the bottom of Wood Lake down to just south of Beaver Lake Road. It also is affecting part of Okanagan Centre Road East to east of Lodge Road.

BC Hydro has assigned a crew to the scene.

It's unknown at this time when the power will return.
