World-renowned pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko has a pair of upcoming performances scheduled for his hometown of Salmon Arm.
The Kamloops Symphony Society has announced the 2024 Leeds International Piano Competition winner is returning to the Interior for four concert dates in September, two in Kamloops and two in Salmon Arm.
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, Izik-Dzurko has a special recital planned for the Nexus at First (First United Church) in support of the Gabi Klein KSO Salmon Arm Concerts Fund, which supports Kamloops Symphony's outreach program. A portion of the ticket price is eligible for a tax receipt. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., and is expected to last 120 minutes with an intermission.
Izik-Dzurko will be back on the Nexus stage on Sunday, Sept. 28, for the second of his two Jaeden Izik-Dzurko Plays Chopin concerts. The program includes Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 and his Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21, which will be preceded by a performance of Three Autumn Scenes by Christine Donkin. Conducted by Michael Newnham, this concert is also expected to be 120 minutes with intermission.
