Former prime minister Justin Trudeau was spotted in Victoria over the weekend, part of a scenic summer road trip with his son, Hadrien.
âTook a road trip with Hadrien from Vancouver to Whistler and Victoria! Loads of fun activities together,â Trudeau wrote in a social media post, which included snapshots from their travels.
The Victoria visit sparked a wave of reactions online, with locals chiming in about their love for the city â and near-misses with the former PM.
âI love this vantage point of a fantastic city. Mr. Trudeau, thanks for giving me hope that those involved in politics can be kind and effective,â one Facebook user commented.
Others were surprised to learn how close they came to bumping into the pair.
âI walk there almost every day with my dog. He has met PM Carney and Premier Eby on our walks. Would have been fun to meet you, too,â another user wrote.
The father-son duoâs trip also included stops at the Vancouver Aquarium and outdoor adventures around Whistler.
Trudeau officially stepped down as prime minister on Jan. 6, 2025, after serving in the role since 2015.
