Hockey season has come to an end in the Central Okanagan but the boys are summer are now starting the shine.
Okanagan College Coyotes baseball
After a week off, the Okanagan College (OC) Coyotes are back on the diamond this long weekend against the Vancouver Island University (VIU) Mariners.
Going into the four-game series, the Coyotes sit fourth in the Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC) with a record of 6-5. Meanwhile, the Mariners sit one game back at 6-6.
OC's offence has struggled a bit to start the season but they can cause havoc on the base paths as they lead the league with 56 stolen bases as a team.
The two teams will play at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, and 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, all at Serauxmen Stadium in Nanaimo.
Âé¶¹AV Junior Kodiaks
The Âé¶¹AV Kodiaks junior lacrosse team is set to have their home opener for the 2025 Thompson-Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League (TOJLL) season on Saturday, April 19.
Taking place at Âé¶¹AV Memorial Arena, the Kodiaks will welcome the North Okanagan Reapers (from Armstrong) to town.
In their first match-up of the season, back on April 12, the Reapers beat the Kodiaks 9-7.
Going into the weekend, North Okanagan is tied for third in the league with a record of 2-1-0 while the Kodiaks are 0-2-1.
Saturday's game starts at 7 p.m.
