Okanagan Sun throttle Rams to kick off 2025 season

Led by running back Garren Hardisty, the Sun roared to a 39-0 shutout victory

Led by a powerful ground game, the Okanagan Sun romped to a 39-0 shutout victory over the Langley Rams to kick start their 2025 BCFC football season.

Running back Gerren Hardisty did most of the damage, rampaging to 70 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, to go along with 42 yards through the air.

The Sun reached the 400-yard plateau on offence, helped in part by quarterback Liam Kroeger's clinical performance. The second-year Sun player threw 16 completions on 24 attempts for 260 yards. His favourite target of the day was wide receiver Jordayne Falconer, who grabbed five passes for 144 yards, including a 75-yard bomb.

Defensively, Okanagan held the Rams to just 164 yards from scrimmage. Linebacker Phil Palmarin led the Sun with four solo tackles and one assist. First-year defensive linemen JaQuintis Summer had a monster game, sacking the Rams QB three times, while adding two tackles, two assists and a forced fumble on special teams.

Every part of the game was humming for the Sun, as kicker Liam Attwood went a perfect five-for-five on converts.

Next up for the Sun is their home opener on Saturday, July 26, against the Vancouver Island Raiders. Kick off is set for 7 p.m. Construction is taking place near the Apple Bowl, so guests are advised to follow signs. There will be an attendant directing off of Burtch Road, and two attendants inside the parking lot to direct patrons.
