The Â鶹AV Rowing Club turned in a respectable showing at the B.C. Rowing Championships this month at Elk Lake in Victoria.
Nicole Samuelson and Jocelyn Carmichael finished a close fourth in the final of the women’s under-19 double, just 1.8 seconds out of third place. The Â鶹AV duo finished the 1850m event in eight minutes 1.96 seconds.
The 12-team race was won by the Victoria City Rowing Club team who will represent B.C. at this year’s Canada Summer games.
Also representing Â鶹AV were Claire Benade and Toni Vandenbrink who finished fifth in B final of the women’s open double.
The Â鶹AV Rowing Club also had four athletes competing in the women’s open quad event where they finished in fifth.
The Â鶹AV team is coached by Dan Thompson.
