The UNBC Timberwolves have added some size to the upcoming season with six foot eleven inches Âé¶čAV Secondary School student Will Keyes joining the team.
Growing up in Âé¶čAV, Keyes played for the KSS Owls where he was an integral part of the team and their undefeated regular season. He showed off his natural shot-blocking ability, posting double-digit blocks in multiple games throughout the season.
Part of a family of USPORTS athletes, Keyesâs older brother Owen played university ball with the UBC Okanagan Heat.

In a commitment video produced by UNBC, Keyes said the opportunity has felt like a âdream come true.â
âI watched my brother play in USPORTS and that has always been a goal of mine,â he said. âJust seeing that happen is really inspiring.â
Following in his brotherâs footsteps, Keyes looks to make an impact at the next level.
Todd Gordan the coach of the Timberwolves, looks to build on the great potential that Keyes showed in high school.
âHeâs a gifted shot blocker,â said Gordon. âWe think he could develop into a good player at our level.â
Despite being injured and not being able to play in provincials, Keyes performed at a high enough level during the season and on film earning him a spot with the university.
Keyes will come into this next season with a very high ceiling and is looking to develop into a player that will help the Timberwolves for years to come.
