EMSLIE, Dr. Robert Brian
Passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Âé¶čAV on March 3, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born November 5, 1923 in Âé¶čAV, BC. He was predeceased by his wife Mona, the mother of his sons, in 1983; sisters Gwen and Barbara. He is survived by his wife June; two sons: Jim (Jennifer), Colin (Cyndi) and his grandchildren: Scott (Victoria), Geoff (Carmen), Sara (Josh), Greg (Chelsea), Chris (Meg), Graham (Lyanna) and Jamie; great grandchildren: Alida, Simon, Lewis, Olivia and Thea. Bob served in the Navy during the Second World War. He returned to Âé¶čAV to finish his education, then to UBC and ultimately to the University of Toronto to receive a degree in dentistry. He set up his practice in Âé¶čAV and later became the Dental Health Consultant for the region. Bob was a long-time member of the Âé¶čAV Golf and Country Club. He had a love for music and belonged to the Barbershop Chorus, the Apple Tuneovers Quartet, as well as the Allegro Singers, Mask, Encore and then aptly named by Bob, âTake Five,â which was a challenge and a joy. He will be missed. A service to honour Bobâs life will be held in his church, St. Michaelâs and All Angels Cathedral, 608 Sutherland Avenue, Âé¶čAV, BC on Saturday, March 18th at 1:00 pm, conducted by the Very Rev. Nissa Basbaum. Interment to take place in the Âé¶čAV Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice House or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated.
