The Western Canada RoboCup Junior Games starts with the soccer challenge at 10 a.m. in the atrium of the Centre for Learning at Okanagan College, Âé¶¹AV campus.
In soccer, two autonomous mobile robots track a special light-emitting ball in an enclosed field and attempt to score goals.
In the rescue challenge, robots follow a course, negotiate uneven terrain and identify victims within disaster scenarios.
The dance competition features pre-programmed robots dancing to music. This takes place at 11:30 a.m. in the lecture theatre on the OC campus.
Awards for each of the challenges will follow the competitions, in the atrium at 2:30 p.m.
The top three winners in each category will qualify to compete in the World RoboCup to be held in Nagoya, Japan next summer.
