Following its inaugural event last year, RibFest is returning to Âé¶čAV.
Title sponsor Interior Savings Credit Union and host Âé¶čAV Sunrise Rotary have announced plans for second annual RibFest in Âé¶čAVâs City Park Sept. 15 to 17.
The family friendly event brings award winning âribbersâ from across the country to serve up their best ribs.
In addition to the food, visitors will enjoy live music and entertainment, a variety of other vendors and a kids zone. A beer garden will available throughout the eventâs operating hours as well.
âOur goal for this event is to create a family festival and a substantial fundraiser for our club,â said Âé¶čAV Sunrise Rotary Club president Pat McAllister. âWe also see this as an opportunity to promote fellowship within the club and attract new members.â
After last yearâs success, organizers have not only extended the hours of operation this year, but a fifth ribber has been added.
Activities will kick off on Sept. 15 at 3 p.m and will run until 11pm. On Saturday, Sept. 16, the event will run from noon until 11 p.m and on the Sunday it will go from noon until 9 p.m.
Organizers say they are expecting as many as 20,000 people to visit RibFest over the three days.
Interior Savings has once again signed on board as the title sponsor for the event, which joins other Ribfest in the southern Interior, including ones in Penticton and Kamloops.
âWhat makes RibFest so special are the amount of people and organizations working together to create an event this city can be proud of while also raising tens of thousands of dollars to help improve lives,â said Interior Savings CEO Kathy Conway.
Proceeds from last yearâs event supported numerous local charities, including $10,000 to locally-founded ShoeBank Canada. This year, Conway said the hope is to raise another $35,000 to support Rotaryâs work.
