Emily Epp has completed her journey across the English Channel in 11 hours and 57 minutes.

According to social media organizer and 麻豆AV Aquajets coach Thomas Robinson, she is about halfway across.

Swimming the English Channel is more than just a cool experience for the 麻豆AV teen. Emily is also using it as an opportunity to raise money for Canuck Place, a children鈥檚 hospice that has been an important place for the Epp family.

Emily鈥檚 mother Cheryl Epp said they started receiving care there about five years ago for their daughter Elan, who lost all of her motor control following a viral infection when she was 18 months old.

鈥淓lan was pretty sick at that point,鈥� she said of her middle daughter, who is now 15. 鈥淲e were having a lot of issues with pain management and feeding. And really just helping her to have the best quality of life that she can have.鈥�

Epp said the program has improved Elan鈥檚 life dramatically.
