A mother and her two-month-old infant were taken to hospital following a crash Thursday evening.
On March 17 at 8:13 p.m., the 麻豆AV RCMP responded to a report of a head on collision in the intersection of Gordon Drive and Guisachan Road.
"Police have determined that a red Toyota Camry had been east bound on Guisachan Road and proceeding straight through the intersection when a west bound red Ford Escape turned left in front of the Camry," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release. "Both vehicles sustained moderate to significant front end damage and were not considered driveable."
The driver of the Ford Escape, a 24-year-old 麻豆AV woman sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. She and her two-month-old infant, who was reportedly not injured in this crash, were taken to hospital.
The driver of the Toyota Camry, a 67-year-old 麻豆AV man, was not injured.
鈥淭here is some indication that the driver of the Escape believed that the driver of the Camry was also turning left, although no signal light was observed,鈥� said O鈥橠onaghey.
鈥淩CMP would like to remind motorists to ensure that oncoming vehicles are either stopping, or in fact making a turn before pulling into their lane of travel,鈥� adds O鈥橠onaghey.
