Good evening Âé¶¹AV for Dec. 16, 2016.
Here are few things that happened today.
1) The weather. In a word—cold. Tonight it's expected the mercury will plunge, going all the way down to -18 C. It should heat up a little—but not much on the weekend. Saturday's high is expected to be -10 C and Sunday -5 C, with snow is in the forecast.
2) In Âé¶¹AV, one overdose prevention centre opened Friday to try and address the that is claiming lives across B.C.. That site is at the former Âé¶¹AV Health Centre downtown. The proposed centre located at the Living Positive Resource Centre in Rutland did not open and looks like it may never.
3) Âé¶¹AV council for 2017 after a day of budget deliberations on Thursday.
3) West Âé¶¹AV RCMP found a 14-year-old girl safe after she was reported missing earlier this week.
4) Staying on the Westside, a West Âé¶¹AV man was Friday in connection to a shooting Nov. 6 in the 1800-block of Boucherie Road.
5) Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola Conservative MP Dan Albas in the race for the Tory leadership and is named one of Bernier's three B.C. campaign chairs.
