Here are few things that happened today.
1) The weather. In a word—cold. Tonight it's expected the mercury will plunge, going all the way down to -18 C. It should heat up a little—but not much on the weekend. Saturday's high is expected to be -10 C and Sunday -5 C, with snow is in the forecast.
2) In Â鶹AV, one overdose prevention centre opened Friday to try and address the that is claiming lives across B.C.. That site is at the former Â鶹AV Health Centre downtown. The proposed centre located at the Living Positive Resource Centre in Rutland did not open and looks like it may never.
3) Â鶹AV council for 2017 after a day of budget deliberations on Thursday.
3) West Â鶹AV RCMP found a 14-year-old girl safe after she was reported missing earlier this week.
4) Staying on the Westside, a West Â鶹AV man was Friday in connection to a shooting Nov. 6 in the 1800-block of Boucherie Road.
5) Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola Conservative MP Dan Albas in the race for the Tory leadership and is named one of Bernier's three B.C. campaign chairs.
