Â鶹AV RCMP have seized a boat and its trailer from an alleged impaired driver, after discovering they were reported as stolen in Sicamous back in May.

On Wednesday, shortly before 6:30 p.m., a Â鶹AV RCMP officer, responded to an erratic driving complaint and stopped the driver of a white Dodge pickup truck, hauling a 21-foot Searay Sport boat on a trailer on Glenmore Drive.

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Â鶹AV RCMP said after identifying the driver and detecting signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication, the officer detained the man to conduct an impaired driving investigation.

During that investigation at the scene, the officer learned that the boat and trailer being hauled by the truck had been reported stolen from a resort on Mara Lake near Sicamous in late May.

The driver, a 30-year-old Â鶹AV man, was then taken to the Â鶹AV RCMP detachment, where he provided breath samples nearly twice the legal limit. He faces several potential charges and was held in police custody to appear in court in Â鶹AV.
