More than 100 volunteers disguised as Santaâs elves helped to wrap and deliver toys that will make Christmas that much more special this year for the children in the Central Okanagan.
Organized by the Âé¶čAV and Âé¶čAV Now, community members were more than charitable this year when dropping off donations for the annual Âé¶čAV Santas event.
Karen Hill with the Âé¶čAV says there were more than 3,000 gifts to wrap this year.
âWe help about 1,200 kids in the community from those gifts," she explained.
The gifts were collected over the month of December, then organized, wrapped and delivered before Christmas.
âWe have gifts from babies all the way up to 17 year olds, the community was very generous with every age group,â explained Hill.
A record number of gifts were donated this year â about three times more than any other Christmas season.
âIâm just so amazing how wonderful this community has been in giving back this year,â said Hill.
The annual wrap party took place at Orchard Ford on Monday night.
