A car drove into Bosley鈥檚 pet store in Lake Country on Saturday afternoon (April 15).

Sometime in the afternoon, a car crashed into the front of the store at 200-9950 Main Street.

The crash caused extensive damage to the front door of the store with glass thrown in several directions within the building. According to Const. Mike Della-Paolera, there was a safety concern that the doors would collapse which caused the business to be temporarily evacuated until deemed safe to reopen.

鈥淎fter speaking with the driver of the vehicle, RCMP can confirm that the driver accidentally pressed the gas pedal rather than the brake pedal,鈥� said Const. Mike Della-Paolera. 鈥淭he acceleration forced the car to hop the curb and strike the door causing extensive damage. We are extremely thankful no one was injured.鈥�

The vehicle was towed away following the incident. Fortunately, there were no injuries to the driver, staff or patrons in the store at the time. Police are not pursuing charges in this incident.
