Two new wildfires have sparked up south of Salmon Arm Saturday afternoon, July 19.
The fires – one near Larch Hills and the other in a rural area west of Silver Creek – both measure 0.009 hectares and are listed as out of control by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).
The causes of both are under investigation, and there are no alerts or restrictions in place for either. The areas are, however, both under a severe thunderstorm watch issued earlier this morning.
The Observer will provide updates as available, which can also be found on the BCWS .
