Preeminent piano trio to open Chamber Music Âé¶čAV season

The Gryphon Trio have won three Juno Awards for Classical Album of the Year and the Walter Carsen Prize

Canada's Gryphon Trio will open Chamber Music Âé¶čAV's 2024-2025 season.

Canada’s Gryphon Trio has stepped up to open Chamber Music Âé¶čAV’s (CMK) 2024-25 season on Saturday Oct. 26. 

“Our original opening-night artists for CMK’s 45th season were to have been the Hermitage Piano Trio,” said President Diane Bond. “Unfortunately, one of their members has fallen ill, and we were notified only 10 days in advance of the show that they would not be able to make their Âé¶čAV date.”

Artistic Director Dr. Patricia Tao said CMK reached to the Gryphons as they were “warmly appreciated” at their last Âé¶čAV concert in 2021. The Gryphon Trio ae violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon, cellist Roman Borys, and pianist Jamie Parker.

Their repertoire ranges from traditional to contemporary, and from European classicism to modern-day multimedia. It is committed to redefining chamber music for the 21st century. They have won three Juno Awards for Classical Album of the Year in 2004, 2011, and 2019. In 2013, the Canada Council for the Arts presented Gryphon Trio with the Walter Carsen Prize for Excellence in the Performing Arts.

the Mary Irwin Theatre at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, and begin at 7:30 p.m.
