There will be a one-day outage of the non-potable irrigation system for residents and agricultural customers in Southeast Âé¶čAV this week.

The outage, which will affect the northeast area of the system, is scheduled for Thursday, May 2 for the emergency valve replacement to accommodate peak irrigation flow.

At its Apr. 23 meeting, city council heard that staff had concerns about the irrigation supply this year.

“For our agriculture customers
we can provide them all their allotments, but no more,” utility planning manager, Rod McLean said.

He added that 2023 was the driest year he has seen in the region’s water system, with 2022 being the second worst year.
