Âé¶čAV residents are invited to âwalk or rollâ for a special event marking the grand opening of the Bertram Multi-use Overpass.
Mayor Tom Dyas, city councillors, and Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, will be on hand.
The new overpass connects the growing neighbourhoods south of Highway 97 to downtown Âé¶čAV and beyond. It provides a safe, comfortable route for pedestrians, wheelchair users, scooter riders, and cyclists, a city media release states.
The $12.1 million project was made possible through a partnership between the city, and the federal and provincial governments. The federal government contributed $4 million, while the province provided $7.2 million.
The celebratory âwalk or rollâ is scheduled for June 6 at 10 a.m. at the corner of Bertram Street and Leon Avenue.
