Live music lovers now have an easier way to find where their favourite artists are playing in Âé¶čAV and surrounding areas.

Graphic and web designer, Michael Trapani, has launched Live Music Âé¶čAV. The website lists hundreds of music events at venues across the Central Okanagan in one place.

“I noticed Âé¶čAV had a bumping music scene and I was missing out on events because
I couldn’t find a site to do want I wanted,” said Trapani.

After moving to the city a few years ago, he set to work scouring social media pages, reaching out to venues and build a platform to list music events, searchable by genre, venue, dates and other filters.

“It doesn’t have every event, that’s impossible,” Trapani added. “But it’s got to have over 90 per cent of events. It has to be a resource people can rely on.”

Trapani, who also operates Live Music Nelson, pointed out there are more than 76 venues (and counting) in the Central Okanagan with live music. While the websites include larger shows and well-known musicians, his focus is local.

“This is good for local talent and smaller venues,” he said. “The feedback has been crazy.”

Artists and venues can also submit their events to the website, at no cost, and new shows are posted every Monday. Trapani’s plans include weekly giveaways through the website.

“I’m going to reach out to venues and ask if they want to participate if they have a couple of tickets to a show, I’ll give them away.”

Trapani runs with his partner Ashley Hovanes.
