Golf clubs werenât the only things making an impact at the Âé¶čAV Chamberâs 40th Annual Golf Tournament â the sold-out event raised thousands for local causes, driving home over $3,900 in support for the YMCA and UBC Okanagan (UBCO).
With 156 golfers, 30 sponsors, and a crowd of enthusiastic supporters, the May 28 event at Harvest Golf Club was a celebration of community, business, and giving back.
âWe had a warm, but productive business and fun day at the Harvest,â said Derek Gratz, president and chair of the Âé¶čAV Chamber. âCelebrating our 40th annual tournament made it an extra special occasion, and the networking and the golf combined as we helped offer support not only for business, but for the YMCA and UBCO.â
The tournament raised over $2,530 for the YMCA and $1,400 for UBCOâs âBeat the Heatâ initiative.
Canco Petroleum, this yearâs presenting sponsor, gave golfers a chance to win two Harley Davidson motorcycles with a hole-in-one at holes 1 and 11.
âWeâve been part of the tournament in previous years, but this is our first year as presenting sponsor,â said Satvir Panesar, CFO of Canco. âWe couldnât be more pleased at the sold-out turnout.â
