A grass fire off Highway 33 was quickly doused by area residents on Friday (July 4) afternoon.
Fire crews were called to the small blaze along the highway near Hume Road, however, upon arrival found the fire had been extinguished.
"Bystanders had already put the fire out with a hose from a residential home," said Todd Johnston, captain with the Â鶹AV Fire Department.
Crews build a guard around the area and stayed on scene to deal with hot spots.
"We'll use a thermal imaging camera to make sure everything is taken care of," Johnston added.
He said it's unclear what caused the fire.
This is same location as a July 2024 grass fire, that sparked off the side of the Highway 33.
It is not clear what the cause of that fire was a year ago.
