Two former Members of Parliament have officially endorsed Anna Warwick Sears, a BC NDP candidate in the Âé¶čAV-Lake Country-Coldstream riding.
Both Stephen Fuhr, a former Liberal MP for Âé¶čAV - Lake Country, and Former Conservative MP Tom Siddon from Burnaby -Richmond-Delta, have announced their support for Anna Warwick Sears in the upcoming provincial election.
Siddon was the founding chair of the Okanagan Water Stewardship Council, an advisory body of the Okanagan Basin Water Board, which Warwick Sears has lead as the Executive Director since 2017 and been a member of for more than 17 years.
âWarwick Sears has given her consistent and dedicated leadership to the important work of Okanagan Basin Water Board," said Siddon.
In light of change and uncertainty in the province and the "ever increasing threats caused by wildfires and climate change," Siddon said he has no hesitation in endorsing Warwick Sears.
Fuhr, a former MP with the federal Liberal Party has also been vocal in his support for Warwick Sears, despite his dissent with some aspects of the BC NDP platform.
âThis election cycle, I am supporting the BC NDP. I donât always agree with the details of their policies, but I share their values. This decision has been made easier because of the strong Okanagan Candidates like Dr. Anna Warwick Sears,â said Fuhr
âHaving worked with Anna when I served as the MP, I am more than confident she will ensure that future policy development will better reflect the needs of our community.â
