Alaska Airlines starts providing service between Âé¶čAV and Los Angeles this winter.
Daily non-stop, seasonal service between Âé¶čAV International (YLW) and Los Angeles International (LAX) begins Dec. 19.
âThis new direct destination will provide benefits to our entire community,â said Mayor Tom Dyas. âI am happy to see our international destinations from YLW continue to increase and serve our community."
Geoff Ritchie, Director of Commercial and Air Service at YLW noted itâs been more than 10 years since there has been direct service to LAX.
âSo we are thrilled Alaska Airlines is bringing back this integral route for the Okanagan community. Alaska Airlines has been a valuable partner of YLWâs for more than 28 years and we are excited to see the continued growth of direct international destinations provided by the airline.â
The route will be operated daily, with the exception of Jan. 6 to Feb. 12, when it will operate five times a week, Thursday to Monday.
