SubHead: Among the entertainment will be plenty of rock ân roll
By Brenda Giesbrecht
Westside Daze is getting a rock ânâ rock kick-start when Totally Tom Petty Hosts the Women of Rock hits the concert stage on Friday night of the festival. Imagine if Tom Petty went on a road trip with three famous women of rock: Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar and Chrissie Hynde. Wouldnât that be a great party? Now youâre invited!
This world class tribute band features Phil Dunset as iconic rocker Tom Petty. Linda Mazeâs tribute to Nicks, Benatar and Hynde has been described as both powerful and ethereal. Together, their performances garner high praise from every venue theyâve played.
âThis will be our first time at Westside Daze,â said Maze, âbut weâre familiar with the area. Weâve been in Kamloops, Penticton, other places in the region. We are really looking forward to our show in West Âé¶čAV.â
Dunset and Maze arenât just fabulous musicians and vocalists, they get completely into character and become the rockers. Dunset once said that during the years heâs performed his tribute show, heâs picked up the southern drawl to the point that people say, âHey man, you really sound like Tom Petty.â
The tribute artists are backed up by the Totally Tom Petty Band. With high-energy stage presence and great costumes, these versatile and convincing performers take you back to the rock show scene of 1978.
Be prepared to party into the Okanagan night with the great music of Totally Tom Petty and the Band, Coolest Chrissie Hynde, Passionate Pat Benatar and Sensational Stevie Nicks.
