It’s at the starting line, but the Âé¶čAV Marathon might be back on track.

The Okanagan Running Collective (ORC), a non-profit that promotes unity, active lifestyles, and tourism, is aiming to bring back the Âé¶čAV Marathon for 2024.

“Our mission goes beyond organizing a marathon,” said ORC Founder Benjamin Violot. “It’s about bringing the community together, inspiring active lifestyles, and celebrating this beautiful place we call home. Yet this doesn’t mean we want to compromise on quality, and we are building a 5-star race like any big city race. We’ve shared our vision with the City of Âé¶čAV, and we hope to have them as partners in this project.”

While other races have taken place in the city, the Âé¶čAV Marathon has been absent for years and the ORC feels like it’s been leaving a void in the community.

ORC’s effort to bring back the race is a combined effort with Centre Culturel Francophone de l’Okanagan, Interior Running Association, Âé¶čAV Running Club, Âé¶čAV Triathlon Club, November Project, Okanagan Parkrun and more.

“We are grateful for the chance to spread the word about our initiative and invite the community to join us in this exciting endeavor,” added Violot.
